7 temporary cessation of hostilities in а theatre, declared unilaterally or negotiated between the parties to the conflict. It does not terminate а state of war but enables, among others, humanitarian actions or negotiations to take place.
FRA
2. One of the conditions for cessation of hostilities; sometimes used as a synonym for the latter. A cease-fire may also be used in settling particular issues, for example the triage and exchange of casualties or the dispatch of flags of truce.
