умники(Did it ever occur to these rocket scientists that it isn't the sea level that is rising around Granville Island.... but the sea bed itself. Granville Island was a man made Island built on top of a sandbar.... which was formed by a combination of sediment settling as the water from False Creek met the ocean waters and the backwash from the tides. Those two factors haven't changed..... so where do they think that sand and sediment is going now.... and where do they think the water goes when the backwash pressure from high tides take effect? Yep... it gives the appearance of flooding when in reality there isn't a drop more of water there than there was 100 years ago. (vancouversun.com)ART Vancouver)
