A range of organizational, combat and special measures by a higher authority to increase the capability of a major formation, tactical formation or unit to perform its operational missions. The reinforcement of major formations, tactical formations and units is achieved by the addition of new major formations, tactical formations and units; regrouping; attachment of reinforcements from the various armed forces, arms of the service, specialized support troops; employment of a senior commander's assets in support of the operations of a major formation, tactical formation or unit. Regrouping involves the transfer of forces from one commander to another, by decision of a senior commander.
