The stock necessary to ensure an adequate supply of spare items to the formations committed in an overseas operation. This stock is put together upon demand for a force deployment, according to specific guidelines received from the Army Staff which determine the volumes necessary in terms of replacement units and days of inventory. It is adapted to the type of force involved, its activity, the operational environment and the transportation capacity of the force.
