Troops are combat-capable when they can conduct combat operations successfully in any situation and thereby realize their combat potential. Combat capability is one of the components of combat readiness. The concentrated application of firepower can result in a drastic reduction in combat effectiveness. The loss may be partial up to 50% or 60% of personnel and equipment have been lost, but command and control remain intact, according to experience in war or total when more than 50% to 60% of forces are out of commission or when command and control have been disrupted.
