in the years since | в наши дни (*противопоставление событиям в прошлом • In 1995 I sent a letter to the Director of Planning, Steve Nicholls, on behalf of an environmental group, suggesting a density transfer from the Eagleridge lands to BPP lands east of Cypress Creek as a way to save Eagleridge in its natural state. The Director was supportive of the idea but putting highrises on the mountain at that time was a political "no go" so the only way it could happen then was to transfer density to BPP lands above 1200". That became part of the 2001 OCP. It was not ideal because it moved development into another area protected from development. Fortunately , in the years since, people have become more accepting of eco-density if it can save a large area of wilderness, like it does here. So the density was transferred to Cypress Village instead so that the maximum amount of natural forest could be saved. (nsnews.com) -- К счастью, в наши дни ... ART Vancouver) |
