Circulation of a book? :-)

Books are not, technically, "circulated".
They are published and sold.

"Circulation" is more appropriately used for smth more periodic than a book, e.g. newspaper.
For a school book, I would stick with print run
As in " (this book) had an (initial, secondary, etc...) print run of ... copies"
