short listing (again)

Ok, sorry this is a long post. But I want to explain it to you fully.
Some of you may remember my post last week about project pipelines and short listing AIM candidates.

I got an explanation about what is meant by "short listing" from the author:
URB could develop a project pipeline and SK could assist in short listing AIM candidates.
-----Short listing AIM candidates has a wider meaning.
There could be several companies that seek listing but
do not satisfy AIM requirements. They may also have a
less than compelling investment case.
If URB takes every company that comes its way, it is
not in the bank's interest as it would create a bad
image. If we short list them properly, have a research
report, get the investment case spruced up that would
help the listing process. That is a part many banks
are lacking and I would like to help URB have a
process in place for that.

With that in mind, what do you think is the best way to briefly state URB could develop a project pipeline and SK could assist in short listing AIM candidates.* in Russian?
(His explanation I am translating and adding as a reference note at the bottom of the page but I am unsure how to say "short listing" in this context. And is "project pipeline" what was suggested in the earlier vetka?)

very humble opinion (hope more credible ones will follow):

Тщательный анализ потенциальных кандидатов (предварительный отбор кандидатов), исследование ... этих компаний (something should be added or research project should be removed altogether) и доработка их инвестиционных предложений (if the investment case stands for investment projects/proposals) значительно облегчат процесс окончательного отбора кандидатов.

повторюсь, я не спец,
но тут в двух случаях (short listing AIM candidates, if we short list them properly) не просто listing, a shortlisting
+
candidates that are companies that seek listing but do not satisfy AIM requirements and may also have a less than compelling investment case

A short list is a list of candidates for a job, prize, award, political position, etc., that has been reduced from a longer list of candidates

"eсли проведем правильный листинг, это поможет процессу листинга"
что-то не так.
но второй listing может и быть тем, что Вы говорите

thank you, i know what listing is. :)

and i repeat, short listing here had a different meaning. (the widdling down of candidates to the ones we really need.) the problem was with him saying short listing AIM candidates becasue that generally means cash shells and the like (ways to get them there more quickly and easily)

he created a lot of confusion for me over here and i appreciate all the advice you guys have given and all the help with the text!

Ok, Nina, my meaning is the SAME as yours
Long listing - making a list of ALL companies of this particular business area
Short listing - making a list of only those companies which are suitable FOR YOU (in this case for URB,)

You asked about how to say 'listing' in Russian, I gave you the official translation of 'Listing' into Russian and earlier you asked about 'cash shells' I gave you the official translation. This is not about explaning the meaning to you.

"Widdling down" is way too slangish for me to translate.
I said "подкорректировать", which sounds very neutral, in no way aggressive!
The meaning is "to sugarcoat a little bit in order to present the given company in a better investment attractiveness, to get some advantages from the bank but only from the point of view of the improved presentation of this company"

Oi, we have so horribly misunderstood one another here. I posted the comment that i know what listing means for you but, the rest of it was just to recap for anyone trying to follow the vetka. oi. oi. oi. and i really appreciate all your comments.
about widdling down - i dont need the translation. that was just me explaining it in my own words :) thought how to say it in russian is a good question :)

and so you dont get confused - when i said: he created a lot of confusion for me over here and i appreciate all the advice you guys have given and all the help with the text!
i was talking about the author of the text. :)
