Subject: business cards
Dear friends,
I have had a little discussion here with my colleagues as for business cards standards. I defended the point that all the words of a title/position should be capitalised (in English, of course), but I have no clue how to prove it. Could you help me with some trustworthy link? Or was I wrong about capitalising?

I think you're absolutely right. No links, sorry (computer-halfliterate, if you understand what I mean ))). But honestly, I've never seen a "Chief accountant" or a "General director".

Personal titles are capitalized when they immediately precede а personal name or names and lowercased when used alone, in general contexts. Following а name or names, such titles are generally lowercased, but in formal usage, such as in the main heading of а paper, mail address, acknowledgments, or lists of contributors, they are usually capitalized.

langkawi2006,
Thank you!

kintorov,
Ok, thank you. It is all perfect, and it seems to support the capitalisation in my case, as a position on a business card usually goes below the name of its bearer.
But the trouble is, that I do not have any serious source which could convince our "lowercase-defenders".

Try to find in the Internet

Guidelines for students MLA essay (mine is from there) or info about capitalising.
