automated roughneck oil

Приветствую всех и обращаюсь с вопросом к знатокам бурения и нефтегазодобычи. Речь идет об устройстве AR4500. Оно как раз и называется "automated roughneck". Могу предположить, что это автоматическое устройство механизации спуско-подъемных операций. Однако хотелось бы узнать поточнее, да и перевод такой громоздкий меня не особо устраивает.
Контекста, могущего пролить свет на значение этого термина, у меня нет, поскольку перевожу инструкцию к контроллеру этого агрегата. Могу лишь добавить, что предусматривается калибровка положения roughneck, также у него есть "jaws", встроенный измеритель крутящего момента, а также какой-то "spin wrench". Заранее спасибо за ответы.

К сожалению, этот вариант не подходит. Про рабочего я и сам читал. Тут речь идет об устройстве или оборудовании. Да и что это за автоматизированный рабочий? :)

Iron in the way of iron
Perhaps the most hazardous place in the oilfield is at the well center during tripping operations. Traditionally it is the place where numerous hands join to stab, spin and torque heavy drill pipe and drill collars. In recent years, the tasks of spin and torque have been assumed by a single machine moving on rails to and from the well center.

Dubbed the iron roughneck for the job title of the human it replaces, it is a staple of the automated rig floor and has been around in some form since the early 1970s when a spinner and torque wrench were put together as a package. In the 1980s the Norwegians pushed for automating the package for offshore use.
