в Ш. нет графств. есть административные р-ны, территрии в юрисдикции местного органа самоуправления. Файф - один из них.

О передаче топонимов писалось не раз даже на моей короткой памяти.

Прочитал. Неверно.

И в России можно назвать Рязанскую область "Рязанской губернией". Понятно будет о чем разговор. Но факт остается фактом - "Рязанской губернии" в России не существует. Равно как и не существует шотландского "графства Файф".

ну нету в Шотландии такой территориально-административной еденицы как "графство". В Уэльсе и Англии - есть, а там - нету.

Исторически говоря, есть, а вернее - были и графства, и княжества, и вотчины, и уезды, и приходы... (см. последний абзац сноски выше), но - все вышли.

Короче говоря, сказать так можно, но не на официальном уровне. По-моему - консенсус.
