The Hawaiian language is very expressive and powerful. Mahalo is the word that is used to say 'thank you'. It really says much more than that though. It says 'may you be in divine breath'. What a wonderful wish for another! And 'Aloha' means more than simply hello or goodbye. It means the presence of divine breath. Think of them as single word blessings or prayers.
