В предложении с "a reaction that one would like to suppress" не получается достойно перевести "suppress". И с последним предложением запуталась. Не понимаю, "кто на ком стоял" :(

The reason for the higher activity for 2,2 dimethyl-butane of X catalyst is due to the higher conversion of cyclo-hexane. On initial evaluation, the conversion of cyclo-hexane with a RONC of 84 to n-hexane with a RONC of 31 may be a reaction that one would like to suppress. However, due to the fact that the cyclo-hexane suppresses the overall activity for the conversion of cyclo-hexane to n-hexane will result in a higher activity for 2,2 dimethyl-butane formation.

... По предварительной оценке превращение/преобразование 84 в 31 может происходить в результате реакции, которую желательно/следует устранить. Однако в силу того, что ЦГ подавляет реакцию превращения, повышается активность образования 2,2
