key to the conversation -- важнее всего в... откуда Вы берете "привели", интересно.
come at something -- выбрать подход к чему-то.
все в словаре есть.

'key to' (where 'key' is an adjective) = 'of paramount/fundamental importance to'

'to come at this (issue)', when trying to solve/consider an issue, means 'to approach this (issue)'. It's usually used in the expression '(to come at/approach) an issue from a different angle' (from the one we've approached it from before).
