Ага, дядя Стёпа, это фраза из Википедии. Не знаю, кто добавил, но "марка двигателя" была всегда engine specification. Может, и кто-то из наших добавил. :)

А если Вы про some, так это значит приблизительно.

'some' here = 'approximately'.
'marks' here = 'variants'/'versions' of a product -- as in Volkswagen Golf Mk. 1, Mk. 2 etc.
