Коллеги, выручайте! Требуется ваше экспертное мнение. Тема: пропорциональные клапаны (нефтегаз). Интересует, что имелось в виду под термином "gaining/profit". Привожу контекст (для общего понимания), интересующий термин находится в последнем предложении.

The width of the proportional band is usually expressed in % of the controller’s range.
Hence, the proportional band is the % of the variability range of the controlled dimension X, necessary to move the controlling element from one to the other extreme positions.
It is intuitive that with a short band, the controlling is more sensitive given that a small variation of the incoming signal corresponds to a strong variation of the out coming signal, hence a stronger action of the controlling element.
Nowadays it is preferred to use, instead of the proportional band, the “gaining/profit” concept, which is the opposite of the proportional band.
