Пожалуйста, помогите перевести.

Слово встречается в следующем контексте:

Simple carbohydrates are also described as high-glycaemic carbohydrates

well hypo-glycaemic means you have problems with blood sugar levels dropping below normal... so maybe these are sugar carbohydrates....
but how to translate? hmmm?

yeah, only blood sugar raises above normal

This would refer to the new diet craze - where all carbs are rated by how quickly they are broken down into sugars and absorbed into the blood stream - slowly, at a medium rate or high rate . so you have High Glyca(e)mic Index Carbs, MGI Carbs, LGI Carbs - dieticians often push for the LGIs since they don't create a huge amount of sugars rushing into your blood, and keep you satiated for longer, since they break down slowly.

if blood sugar goes above normal, why do hypo-glycaiemics drink juice or suck a candy when they feel like they are going to faint (lose concsiousness, etc...)?
i know its really OFF topic, but if you know the answer, please tell me.... i am truly interested in knowing

Perhaps it shoudl be translated as гликогенный индекс

то есть в Вашем случае это будут "углеводы с высоким гликогенным индексом"

gogolesque, я не специалист, но, например, если диабетики (а у них уровень сахара в крови, как известно, выше нормы)пропускают прием пищи, то у них кружится голова и they feel like they are going to faint. Но при это уровень сахара все равно выше нормы. Просто у них уже своя норма, наверное. может быть относительно здесь теаое же объяснение?
