A protest was held within the framework of “16 days campaign against gender violence” in Bishkek, organizers of the event informed on Monday.
“During the protest we placed flags of three colors. Purple flags symbolize the number of accidents (around 7500) when women suffered from house violence the last year. The number of red flags (about 9800) represent victims of “Ala kachuu” (bride kidnapping - KyrTAG). White flags are the number of girls forced to sexual intercourse after kidnapping (about 2000)”, - spokesman of the Feminists Initiative informed.
Today, the 10th of December is celebrated Human Rights Day.
