What Is Bulk Water?
Bulk water removal is the withdrawal and transfer of large quantities water out of its original basin, like a lake, river or aquifer by human diversions such as pipelines, trucks, tanker ships or canals. This water is transported to an arid area where freshwater is not available and sold. The production of bottled water is small-scale and is not considered bulk removal.
