2.3 Hot Working of Forged Material

The overall hot work ratio is defined as the product of the hot work ratio for each separate hot working or forging operation, excluding initial upsetting and any upsetting not followed by drawing, extrusion, or ring expansion. For example, if the overall hot working or forging process consists of two separate operations, then the overall hot work ratio is calculated by multiplying the hot work ratio for the first operation by the hot work ratio for the second operation.
