Предложение такое - Муж, жена, дети, внуки - это все одно, это семья, это одно целое, это гармония.

Нууу, man - это такой же муж, как и husband, в отличие от spouse. Так что не "надо" менять)))) Тем более, если перевод имеет отношение к религии (очень на то похоже))))

Дело не в выкидывании из словаря, а в правильном употреблении. Какое из значений aggregate, по Вашему мнению, использовано в предложении о семье?

Это уже вопрос благозвучия и вопрос к нэйтивам, можно про семью, ячейку общества сказать aggregate.

Формально нельзя использовать, но если очень хочется - то можно.

Согласитесь, что к семье (по крайней мере, настоящей Семье) такое понятие как aggregate вряд ли подойдет:

Понятно все это)))
Не люблю эмоциональные оценки, поэтому и спорил скорее не по поводу употребимости/неупотребимости, а по поводу прилагательного "корявое".
Что до progressive, то там есть "all" и тем самым comprising становится скорее прилагательным)))
