The FASB issues Statements of Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS) that must be followed by public companies. The SEC and the FASB issue interpretations of these Standards, as well as supplemental disclosure requirements, which also must be followed by public companies. These include Regulations and Staff Accounting Bulletins issued by the SEC and Consensus Opinions issued by the Emerging Issues Task Force (EITF) of the FASB. Our accounting policies are written (and updated as the rules change) so as to ensure our Company complies with all of this guidance in its external financial reporting.
