еще такое соображение: district police в принципе мало что говорит об участковых, любая полиция имеет районные подразделения. можно попробовать community policing либо community police services (хотя это ближе к ДНД и иногда делается на коммерческой основе). Вот здесь http://www.sandi.net/comm/factsheets/police.pdf community police officers отличаются от fully sworn officers, и вроде бы участковые по рангу-статусу тоже отличаются от оперативников в УВД. Good one, too, though I'd try to use notions of the same order - either people, like inspectors and delinquents, or things, like services and crime... Also, delinquency is still probably better than crime seeing as it also includes propensity for crime and antisocial behavior. And finally, couldn't "inspectors" be misconstrued as higher-ranking officers? (which участковые are not) Webster: inspector: An officer on a police force, ranking next below a superintendent or police chief . How about |
