I had tried "the festival itself," because that made sense, but when I looked up definitions of непосредственно, none of the definitions had anything like "itself," so I had my doubts. And I also didn't understand why it was непосредственно and not непосредственного. Perhaps that is just a typo. Thank you for clarifying the translation for me. It's appreciated!

"Непосредственно" is correct. It is an adverb and "непосредственного" is an adjective. Simple!
