When she became leader of the Conservative Party in 1975, Britain was on the brink of disaster, threatened by total collapse. The weak Labour government with a small majority presided over a bankrupt economy in hock to the IMF and threatened from within by a challenge to law and order itself. When she was forced from power in 1990, she left a sound economy and a confident and well-ordered society. The lessons are writ large.

Вот-вот, а какой ценой она этого достигла? Недаром ее зовут Железная Леди. Она укрепила экономику, но, при этом, она урезала все, что только было возможно для простых людей. Все протесты, при этом, были подавлены. Ну а в 90-е у них пошло все гораздо лучше, за счет нас. Сейчас этот ресурс для стран Запада закончился. Отсюда - кризис, который начался бы раньше, если бы не было распада Союза. А что дальше будет - один Бог ведает. Не зря говорят, что из кризиса мир выйдет другим.

Tamerlane, такое ощущение, что вы специально источники подбираете. В одном случае прямо консерватора процитировали, тут тоже ссылку на ее сторонников даете. Какой смысл аргумента в этом случае? Это как спрашивать D-50 о России - и так все понятно будет заранее.

Не знаю почему, но я всегда уважал Тэтчер. Мне всегда казалось, что при ней Англия была Англией.
