Вот, здесь, по-моему, всё сказано: Dracula by Bram Stoker, The complete Gothic Vampire Novel Chapter I |
"One question--what does the term 'leiter wagon' mean?" Stoker's Notes show that he found the term in A. F. Crosse's book "Round About the Carpathians" (1879). Crosse notes that it is "a vehicle which has no counterpart in England ... This long cart is, it is needless to say, without springs; but it has the faculty of accommodating itself to the inequalities of the road in a marvelous manner. It has, moreover, a snake-like vertebrae." I included a photo of one in my DLB volume on "Dracula" - I'll see if I can find an image to send along to Bryan. |
