Имхо, по крайней мере, одно отличие в том, что precision - более точный термин, accurate - более общий. Например, accurate measurement, имхо - это измерение, приемлемое по точности, а precise measurement - абсолютно точное (безошибочное) измерение. Вообще, значений-то много у каждого слова, все различия сразу не упомнишь, нужен контекст (если он есть). |

The Science of Measurement: Accuracy vs. Precision The dictionary definitions of these two words do not clearly make the distinction as it is used in the science of measurement. Accurate means "capable of providing a correct reading or measurement." In physical science it means 'correct'. A measurement is accurate if it correctly reflects the size of the thing being measured. (достоверность) Precise means "exact, as in performance, execution, or amount. "In physical science it means "repeatable, reliable, getting the same measurement each time."(точность) We can never make a perfect measurement. Проще говоря, вам надо измерить длину кирпича линейкой с миллиметровыми делениями. Точность (precision)вашего измерения будет равна 0,5 мм (так нас в школе учили). А вот accuracy (достоверность, правильность -- в метрологии используются разные выражения) будет зависеть от массы факторов: тем ли концом вы приложили линейку, как аккуратно совместили начало шкалы с краем кирпича, позволяет ли ваше зрение взять правильный отсчет, дрожат ли у вас руки и т.д. |
