Subject: OFF: Romania Has anyone here been to Romania? Is it true that they only have one paved highway and that outside of Bucharest they still use horse carts to get around on the public roads?

d. really? I just didnt think Ukraine was THAT poor. wow. ouch. I am asking becaue I need to write a report on the economic situation of the country and I found this info on the net and wanted to make sure it is true before I go and write it in the report. |

d. no one said ninety. it was an estimated exaggeration. but from sources on the web i have gathered that it is over 40% in the Romanian contryside. Is this wrong? |

| Bucharest is reasonably modern, many young folks speak English, and food is great. I doubt they have only one paved highway: at least one good one runs from the Otopeni airport to the capital, and there are other roads that connect this country to the rest of Europe so I hope they are paved. |
