Выражение встречается в следующем контексте:
Though there's noise rattling from regulator, there's no steam escaping.
 Regulator is not installed properly.
 The nozzle of regulator pipe is blocked with residue.
 Dry burning.
Речь идет о скороварках.
Меры устранения этого "Dry burning" :Turn off fire immediately and take away cooker from range. Tilt up the regulator half way to let steam escape. Open lid and check if there's any part functions abnormally. Может, какое-то приваривание?? клапана?
