e.g. Educating youth through peer-counseling is one of the most effective ways YWCAs are tackling HIV/AIDS. Youth as a group give a lot of weight to what their peers say and think. They may not hear the same message if it comes from their parents, but they will when it comes from their friends. It can also be easier for youth to open up to friends than parents, especially about intimate issues.
