В Лонгмане дается несколько глаголов follow/get/catch somebody's drift (=understand the general meaning of what someone is saying не удивлюсь, что в природе употребляется и take |

althea i didnt say you cant say it. i asked for context and where the asker got it from. trust me, this Horatio knows it's possible... in english slang, almost anything is possible |

Говорит пилот авиа-шлюпки: "You've come to the right place... or the wrong place, if you take my drift." Указанный мной вариант перевода вполне вписыватся, но я просто тоже не видел раньше такую связку с take |
