This morning I found out that it did, following a rather rude call at 8am from another Indian-accented caller. I told her I would pay the bill and query it, and that no, I didn’t want to move to direct debit billing for reasons that I hoped might be bleeding obvious. I put an instruction in to my bank to settle the bill, and then called BT yet again. Once more, the agent agreed that even the latest bill is obviously wrong, apologised for the error, thanked me for paying, and referred my account for checking again. ...
