Subject: prime broker Пожалуйста, помогите перевести.prime broker Выражение встречается в следующем контексте: First you deposit money (or securities) into a margin account. Then you use that money as collateral to borrow the Amazon shares. This requires that somebody who owns Amazon be willing to lend you his shares. This is usually not a problem since anybody who owns stock in a margin account has consented to having his stock lent to other investors. The prime broker arranges the borrowing. This means, incidentally, that when a hedge fund manager chooses a prime broker, he will want, among other things, a broker who has excellent access to stock available for borrowing. Then you sell the borrowed shares, and that sale produces real money, which is called the proceeds of the short sale. The proceeds of the short sale go into an account at the prime broker, where they earn interest. The interest is split three ways: the lender of the Amazon shares earns a lending fee, the broker earns a fee for arranging the transaction, and the short seller earns the remainder of the interest. мне чейто другое попадалось. но очень давно. в глоссарях значится: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_broker и еще prime broker A broker which acts as settlement agent, provides custody for assets, provides financing for leverage, and prepares daily account statements for its clients, who are money managers, hedge funds, market makers, arbitrageurs, specialists and other professional investors. сложное это дело.... какое-то комплексное брокерское обслуживание. токо вот как самого брокера назвать, ума не приложу. из инетовских вариантов первичный брокер главный брокер. но мне как-то не нра. :( |

ЗЫ в свое время перевел это транслитом - имхо, самый приемлемый вариант. прайм брокер |

тоже думал транслитом перевести. Тем более, что в инете часто встречается... наверное так и сделаю. Спасибо за подтверждение. |
