Да, что-то в этом роде. Просто я думала, что может быть существует какой-нибудь конкретный устоявшийся термин

Речь идет все-таки не о стабилизации (гель может быть стабильным, напр. во времени, но тем не менее непрочным), а именно о увеличении прочности геля. Проще всего так и сказать - добавки, увеличивающие прочность геля.
