В предложении "я занимаюсь туризмом по многим направлениям - прием гостей, организация индивидуальных туров и т.д." можно употребить "I am engaged im tourizm in many directions..." или есть что-то более подходящее?
И еще вопросик: когда ученики хотят выразить мысль, что им нравиться общаться с разными людьми, то можно употребить "mix up" или правильнее "communicate"?

tourizm in many directions - это звучит как "туризм в различных направлениях" и то, по-моему, не очень...

я бы подумала на тему my responsibilities include...

Попробуйте I manage many branches of tourist(ic) business... Но это звучит так, как будто Вы директор агентства. Если ваша должность скромнее, то напишите My jobs (responsibilities) in our tourist company are very diversified:

А как Вам этот вариант:
to socialize - to spend time with other people socially, for example at a party:
I spent most of my first year at college socializing.
He never socializes with people from work.

Trouble is, in THIS context it won't fly :-)))))))

Why don't you just say that they take pleasure in MEETING WITH (Bush calls it "spending quality time with...") other prople bla-bla-bla...

OK, heather, here is the context for "socializing":
You go to a party/reception and socialize there with friends until you all reach the stage of advanced chillout :-)

When applied to kids, "socialize" is usually used in a more scientific context, like "psychological aspects of girls socializing with boys" ,... that kinda stuff.

Actually, if your text is not of a terribly formal nature, you might also contemplate saying smth like "they like to hang out with (peers...)"

А скажите, пожалуйста, meet надо употреблять с with? обычно в учебниках пишут без предлога.

Not to complicate matters further, here is a rule of thumb for you:
Meet smb - знакомиться с ... (as in "I want you to meet my wife. Jenny, here is Don")
Meet with smb... - встречаться с ... (as in "he was meeting with her in a seedy little hotel in Akihabara")

Ну и на Дабъю я тоже не зря ведь сослался - (это он после встречи с нашим Гарантом журналистам запердолил) - вполне В ЗАВИСИМОСТИ ОТ КОНТЕКСТА можно сказать:

They enjoy meeting with/hanging out with/spending time with...people.

The problem with "socialize" in this particular context is that in the English language, they TEND TO use that verb with a SLIGHTLY different flavor/shade of meaning, often in more scientific settings than the informal Russian "общаться".
