в одном случае -
**km of Krasnoyarsk было,
во втором - деревня **km from town

это нормально?

мне кажется второе правильно т.к. с distance употребляется предлог from

если малое расстояние, то можно, наверное, и off

the first should say "outside of" but is only used in tour guides and things of that nature.
the second is right "__km from town/ from the town of..."
