можно ли перевести это дело так:
..it is no coincidence that it was named such a name...
перед этим в контексте было уже сказано,
что он был назван Новым

V, gogo, come on, it was a joke, a part of the jocular style guide, where each rule is illustrated by a a sentence that contains a violation of the rule itself - like "And do not start sentences with conjunctions". "I told you a million times not to exaggerate". etc.
