It's an invented word, of course. If it relates to Dr Doom, Stark Tower etc in the Marvel Comics and games, http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/Башня_Старка you may have to invent a corresponding word in Russian, as 'doomified'/'to doomify' don't exist. Ideally you need someone who's read these comics or played these games and understands the link between Dr Doom and Stark. Failing that, you need someone with a good literary imagination. (Also, if it does relate to the above, you should have mentioned this in your initial question, to explain the context). |

** А что если это производная от doomish? ** I don't think you can assume that at all because, like 'doomified', 'doomish' is a non-existent word. 'Doomified' is a word which 99.9% of native English-speakers won't have heard of; it will only mean something to the 0.1% of people who have played this game. Therefore, imho, you probably need a Russian word which sounds just as bizarre to 99.9% of Russian-speakers as 'doomified' sounds to English-speakers. ** Думифицированный ** I thought of that too, as well as something like 'Думстаркпром', but avoided saying them because I'm not a native Russian-speaker and wasn't sure whether they might be confused with other (real), similar Russian words/names. However, if you've transliterated 'Dr Doom' as 'Доктор Дум', rather than translating the meaning (eg 'Доктор Гибель'), 'Думифицированный' may be your best option. Don't ask me what it means, though; for that you need someone who's played the game. |
