Subject: with premium touch gen. Пожалуйста, помогите перевести.Выражение встречается в следующем контексте: |
Поясню ворпос о "with premium touch" - здесь речь о специализации компании или люксовой нише напитков? |
скорее о люксовой нише |
Спасибо!! |
По-моему, это можно перести, например, так: ...компания, занимающаяся производством и сбытом первосортных... /высшего качества. |

It looks as though it's been written in/translated into English by someone with a limited knowledge of the language. 'touch' looks a bit suspect here. What do the paragraphs before and after it say? |
Why, John. It is a very common expression. Premium touch whatever younameit just means "high/top-quality". |
Когда я вижу фразу "with premium touch", в голове сразу возникает ассоциация "с претензией на элитарность" :). Налет, блин, премиальности :). |

Hi Amor 71: I can imagine it being used in advertising – for example, in the brand names (not descriptions) of certain products, eg 'Dulux Premium Touch paint' (I've just invented this), but not as a descriptive term for a company. It may be a valid term I've just never heard of (there are thousands of those!), but .... * If you Google the exact phrase "company with premium touch" (in quotes) you'll find 0 occurrences of it on the web. And how do you explain "We are dynamic company" when it should be "We are a dynamic company"? That's a basic error – a bit like writing in Russian, "Мы есть одна динамическая компания". It instantly makes you think: "this person probably doesn't know the language very well". These two points together are what made me ask to see the paragraphs before and after it – to see what the rest of the English was like. |
Hi, John, I am not arguing. Entire statement is a nonsense. "Premium touch within ...distribution". But we know what they mean. Google gives us 1,190,000,000 "premium touches". Свечка is asking how to translate these two words. |
7:06, а по-моему, это можно перевести, например, так: наша компания занимается производством и сбытом напитков, которые «дерут горло» |
эксклюзивного качества (ну реклама ж, чё с неё взять...) |
johnstephenson, a little bit of 'fault-finding'))))) - 'dynamic company' in Russian is 'динамично развивающаяся', 'динамический' is about 'statistical series; time series ' as they say, without prejudice)))))))))))) |
* 'dynamic company' in Russian is 'динамично развивающаяся' * А может, она уже развилась и динамично шустрит по всем фронтам? :-) |
"шустрит по всем фронтам" - это тоже развитие))), как только перестанет развиваться, то бишь шустрить, начнется стагнация |
важно, чтобы динамика не была из разряда "крутить динамо")))))))))) сейчас таких динамистов развилось...... |
развилось - развЕлось)))) |
@ 'dynamic company' in Russian is 'динамично развивающаяся', 'динамический' is about 'statistical series; time series ' That doesn't change the fact that the sentence is missing an article, now does it? ;-) And speaking of articles: PS Sorry, I had to call (just couldn't help it) into question your knowledge, Amor: this time you did get it right (which is still a pretty rare occurrence, I might add))) |
"That doesn't change the fact that the sentence is missing an article, now does it? ;-) " с артиклями никогда не дружила))), потому и цепляюсь к более длинным словам))) |
///Amor: this time you did get it right (which is still a pretty rare occurrence, I might add))) /// Just a good guess. |

It looks as though the conversion's been diverted into a discussion of 'динамическая' / 'динамичнач' / 'динамично развивающаяся' etc. Fair enough – but you instantly spotted that the Russian wasn't right, didn't you...? Likewise with the English. Amor 71: However, I'm probably being pedantic. It looks as though it's written by someone with limited English, so we have to guess at what he/she had in mind, as you say. They probably meant 'We are a ...... company involved in the production and distribution of (luxury/high-end/upmarket) beverages' or something like that, so I'll give you that one. I'm now going to sulk for the rest of the day. :-(( |

Correction: 'динамичная'. |
///to sulk/// I didn't know this word. Thanks. |

/// ///to sulk/// /// I didn't know this word. Thanks. and you know what this means? you have not read the HHGTG :-[ |
johnstephenson, I've noticed the same. This missing article was not the only error in that text. Shame, the dynamic company with premium touch didn't hire any native speaker to proofread the text. Thank you for being so pedantic, I appreciate. :) Всем огромное спасибо! С вами - очень классно и познавательно! :) |
23.02.2019 19:34 link Странная логика: Я вот не читал (к стыду своему?) HHGTG (whatever that means), а слово sulk знаю. Просто парадокс какой-то, не?..) |
...и гений, парадоксов друг... |

Свечка: You're right, it's definitely not been proofread. "Dynamic and professional" perhaps, but only occasionally! mikhailS: I didn't know what it meant either, but I suspect it's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, though only after searching online for several minutes. So you're in good(In My Vastly Important Opinion) company! |
Needless to say I am honored, John ;-) Now, whether it's good or bad company is a totally different question altogether..))) Because it does seem like reading this book was (and maybe still is?) a big deal: online it's described in the most glowing terms and even referred to as "an international multi-media phenomenon; the novels are the most widely distributed, having been translated into more than 30 languages by 2005" I mean, wow! Sounds almost like another "Lord of the Rings" :-) So, how come I've never heard of it before?.. I guess, back in the day (before Internet that is) I was too busy struggling with the works of Mohem and Hemingway (wasn't exactly my choice - they were all part of my college curriculum) to read anything else :-( And what's your EXCUSE, John? ;-))) |
Я читал (но не дочитал) эту книгу несколько лет назад в русском переводе. Несусветная хрень, и перевод плохой... |
