Подскажите, пожалуйста, как сказать:
1. Он не мог этого сделать.
Говорит мать человека, который что-то своровал.

2. Он не мог этого сделать.
Обсуждают два приятеля третьего, не зная кто сделал.

3. Он не мог этого сделать.
Обсуждают два друга третьего, не зная кто сделал, но в полной уверенности, что это сделал не он.
Мои варианты
1. He couldnt have done it.
2. He couldnt have done it.
3. He couldnt do it или he cant have done it.

We use couldn’t/could not to talk about the past:

We knew it could not be true.
He was obviously joking. He could not be serious.
