Engine exhaust gas и treatment system feed gas - это одно и то же, но рассматриваемое с разных сторон. Для двигателя - это выхлоп, а для системы очистки выхлопного газа - "сырье" (исходный газ), которое она очищает.
А sensor 160 оказался на "границе", где выхлопной газ становится исходным газом. Или просто текст был неудачно отредактирован)

Без более широкого контекста - возможно. Однако, в приведенном тексте говорится об еxhaust gas treatment system. Treatment. А Вы пишите про Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

Есть там и рециркуляция (EGR), но с ней все более-менее понятно
