Calculation with 17 deg (Ti30) :

Angle in mrad = 17/ 180 * 1000* Pi = 297 mrad

IFOV (one detector )= 297 mrad /160 detectors = 1,85 mrad (1,85 mm at 1000 mm)
( 1,9 mm)

Theoretical D:S = 1000 mm/1,85 = 540 : 1

1. We specify not only the IFOV but also D :S (the usual standard for handheld IR thermometers). FLIR doesn’t!

Slit response function at 90% = SRF = 225 : 1
Response of a circle at 90% = D:S real = 90 : 1
