Помогите, пожалуйста, разобраться, что означает здесь subpetrous loops.

Обратите внимание, что дистальная часть проводникового катетера Fargo Max (Balt, г. Монморанси, Франция), для улучшения ее стабильности, расположена дистально относительно петель внутренней сонной артерии на ее участке перед каменистым сегментом (треугольники).

Спасибо leka11. Про каменистую часть я почитал. В МТ также есть. Мне непонятна приставка суб. Что она означает? Что этот участок/сегмент/часть расположен до/перед этой каменистой частью/сегментом,т.е. примыкает к нему? По логике так выходит ... К сожалению заказчик молчит как рыба об лёд. Может завтра ответит хоть чё-нить.

Кстати если кому не в лом, помогите смысл предложения понять (интересует предпоследнее предложение. Как перевести recessive lumen? Что это за просвет?):

We report our novel technique, remora technique that uses a goose neck snare for the microcatheterization of transverse sigmoid sinus dural arteriovenous fistulae (T-SS dAVF). Although access for transvenous embolization (TVE) was initially difficult in our patient, it was finally achieved by using this new technique.
We previously reported a "microcatheter pull-up technique" that uses a goose neck snare for introducing the microcatheter into the affected isolated sinus in the course of percutaneous TVE for dAVF. We found that making a U-turn in the recessive lumen with the microguidewire facilitated its introduction into the main lumen of the dural sinus. In this technique, we caught the U-turned end of the microguidewire with the snare and then pulled up the microcatheter with the snare by pulling down on the microguidewire.

Мой вариант:
Авторы обнаружили, что разворот на 180 градусов проводника в рецессивном (??) просвете облегчал его введение в основной просвет дурального синуса. При использовании данной методики авторы захватывали развернутый на 180 градусов конец микропроводника петлей и затем подтягивали микрокатетер с помощью петли, натягивая его на микропроводник.

Какая-то жесть получается :(
