The X-Y Plate is adjusted using two wedges located on 45° angles on the bottom of the Fixture Plate. Moving these two wedges relative to each other can move the X-Y Plat up and down or side to side. Once these two wedges have positioned the centerline of the tooling plate in the proper location, the two top wedges are drive in place to lock the Tooling Plate in location. The tooling plate is then drawn back up against the Fixture weldment using clamping cylinders and a tie-rod arrangement. This makes sure that the Tooling Plate has a solid back-up surface behind it for load transmission so that here is no axial deflection when the forge load is applied
