The exalted status and prerogatives of the Khitan aristocratic clans were inherited by their female members as well as their male ones. The imperial clan consisted of the two branches (divisions) of Horizontal Tent 橫帳, the lineage descended from Taizu, and Three Patriarchal Households 三父房, the lineages of Taizu’s two paternal uncles and his brothers. Only Taizu’s line had prerogative to the imperial succession, therefore, the lineages of the Three Patriarchal Households held more of an honorary position.

Да, но тогда логично было бы и спрашивать, что это такое, раз вы не знаете что это такое. Сначала понять о чем речь, потом переводить, таков порядок действий, не наоборт.

Если нет желания выяснять что это и вообще о чем это, пишите "Горизонтальные Палатки", пусть все думают, что это название какой-то где-то там реалии древнего, не очень понятного, и тем не менее неуловимо родного нам общества.
