Интересно, почему "фундаменты" - их несколько по горизонтали разбросано или несколько слоев принято именовать "фундаментами".

Да, извините, забыл про контекст.. Строится предприятие, и вот закладывают фундамент на той площадке, где будут основные произв. линии. До этого шли предложения о том, что строятся вспомогательные здания и уже построены подъездные пути и т.п.
