customer (or client)

 gogolesque

i usually use CLIENT
because customer sounds more like purchaser in english and has that sort of connotation

В 90%+ случаев это "Customer"

Customer

if, for example, the contract is for the opeining of a bank account, is it still customer?
and in most bank contracts, will it be customer?

i always thought the norm for financial lingo was Client.

Ой, а почему-то мой пост не сохранился. :-( Client - можно, но Customer - более распространенный вариант.

обычно вместо клиент пишут
COMPANY
or they can also use an abbreviated form like R&H instead of ROHM&HAAS

and if it is not a company, but a person? you have to say client....
also i think that the idea is like this -
if the only thing happening in the contratc is that our zakazchik is buying something - customer
but if he is receiving other services or not buying anything - client

this is my opinion anyhow....

Gogolesque:
На банковскую сферу вряд ли приходится более 10 оставшихся процентов употребления "Customer",не согласитесь?

with bank contrats it is always (as far as i know) Client becasue this is how we talk about anyone dealing with a bank, unless there is a need for a more specific term like investor, depositor, etc..(as far as 25 years of experience know)

There are some contracts in which both 'customer' and 'client' sound odd. I can't think of any on the spot except contact killing but I will in a while, if necessary. I use 'Principal' in such cases. Is it OK, messrs. native speakers?

 gogolesque

give me a sentence with Principal
i really dont think it is right.....

 a05

conRact killing, of course

DEAR colleagues!
Most of my natives use EMPLOYER (заказчик) in the Contracts and Agreements! But I prefer using Customer!
What can you tell about that issue?

 V

Серхио, emploуer - не "заказчик". Это только в ТРУДОВЫХ договорах, а не в ГП.

gogolesque - если интересно, сделайте поиск - я про это недавно подробно постил
