SH2 so do you know of a contest, then? |
Нет, к сожалению, пока нет. Но ждём. И верим. И надеемся ;-)) |
How 'bout a beer drinking contest? I'm in. All the way. :) |

and maybe a pie eating contest to make it a great day! :) |
Hmm.. (anxiously remembering what am I good at) Oh! SH2ing contest, anyone? |
There was one, but i wouldn't recomend it. http://www.yandex.ru/yandsearch?text=Переводчик+2004+конкурс&stype=www I don't think we can expect a reoccurrence. |
What kind of a pie? Mind you it is beer in question. No shortbreads and butter cookies allowed. Pretzels? :) |
I'll go for the beer. |

Miff - i used to work for the fools who created that contest - i would never recommend anyone to participate |
Yeah, it sucks when one works while others are getting sloshed, doesn't it? Seriously, I rarely am an extensive drinker, but those beer contests i participated in were not that bad. |
Miff And all that beer participated in you was not bad, as well, I suppose? |
gogolesque Wait.. There ARE chances we had met before.. |
2 gogolesque By the way, if you are an american, how did you get to know russian as well as you do? It is quite unusual for the great majority in the states to learn a foreign language beyond a school curriculum. I am just curious, I know a great many of interpreters and translators who are russian natives, but only a few speakers of russian among the non-russian folk. |
Miff, I know loads of Britons speaking russian |
Speaking, not translating. I know a lot of people who can explain what they want in russian, but they do not know it well enough to be able to translate professionally. |
Miff, May I ask you where do you live? When I was taking Metropoliten test (test for translators in UK) there were just 3 russians and about 7 not-russian people taking the test. |
Gee, you're right. Let's just say one gets to know people at places where one can meet them. I live in Moscow, no wonder the majority of people I meet are rissians, translators or not. See ya tomorrow! I have just finished a nasty project, beer awaits! |

gogolesque The system was unable to find user's mail or other contacts. I'm not sure if I should say everything right here. |

SH2 and Miff its time to admit who you are :) |
The second mail is sent, please check.. |
gogolesque I used to work at the same place as you apparenlty did. I've heard a lot of you, although we never met. In case you would like to show up at the next Multitran Powwow (oct. 7th) I'd be pleased to meet you. SH2 and I work together now at a different place, this may explain better why we got the idea we might know who you are. I was willing to meet you, though I never had the chance. Sorry if I have been importunate. |
gogolesque And I'm a bit upset that there probably will be no nametags at pOwWoW. We'll be drinking and orgying in a shroud of mystery.. |
