Не вожу машину, да и представление об устройстве американский стоянок имею весьма cмутное.He was pulling the Toyota out of the city lot onto the northbound I-35 access ramp <…> He straighten out the wheels, then checked the rearview mirrors <…> He stopped the Toyota, put it into reverse , and begun backing the ramp <…> He brought the Toyota to a lurching stop at the parking lot entrance, put it into Drive, and pulled back into the lot. He switched the headlights to the high beams and pointed the Toyota the Nova beside the support pillar. Жуть! Не то чтобы я совсем ничего не поняла, но сказать, что поняла все, что он делал со своей тойотой тоже не могу. Спасибо заранее. |
| Okazalsya na v'ezde na I-35 dorogu <..> Vyrovnyal kolesa, posmotrel v zerkala <..> Ostanovilsya, vklyuchil zadnyuyu peredachu, stal s'ezhat' po v'ezdu (tut kontekst upushen) <..> krivo postavil (nakrenil) na v'ezde na parkovku, vklyuchil peredachu "Drive" (u nego avtomaticheskaya korobka, tam neskol'ko polozheniy, na "Drive" mashina edet vpered) i zaehal obratno na parkovku. Vklyuchil dal'niy svet i vysvetil "The Toyota the Nova" na stene. IMHO |
| brought … to a lurching stop -- резко затормозил/остановился, т.е. так что машина "кивнула", в данном случае -- назад. |
| вместо включил передачу Drive, лучше сказать "переднюю", ибо не все читающие знают все положения рычага в автомобилях с автоматической коробкой передач |
