Правильно ли будет сказать: They connected the transparent hose directly from tank to engine, in order to avoid for fuel passing throgh the filter для фразы Они установили эти прозрачные шланги напрямую из бака к двигателю, чтобы топливо шло в обход данного(упоминался ранее потексту) фильтра.
интересует имеет ли право жить такая конструкция, особенно в месте : in order to avoid for fuel passing throgh the filter
или лучше сказать for avoiding the passing of the fuel through the filter

translucent имхо лучше.
hoses возможно не лучшее (может tubes?), но оставлю как есть.

первая часть не понравилась. варианты:
they connected [the] tank to [the] engine directly with these translucent hoses ...
they installed these translucent hoses to connect the tank to the engine directly ...

по сабжу:
... so that fuel would not go/pass/flow/run through the filter
